Progressive Direct Signs On with SSP Pure Insurance

SSP, a leading global provider of insurance technology solutions has been selected by Progressive Direct Insurance Company (Progressive) to provide its Pure Insurance solution in Australia, replacing Progressive’s existing legacy administration systems. Progressive offers a 100 per cent online, low cost car insurance solution for Australian Motorists.

Following a period of significant business growth, Progressive could see that its existing technology platforms were becoming inadequate to handle its expanding requirements.

SSP Pure Insurance is a highly flexible, end-to-end core insurance system for all lines of business. It includes modules such as product development, policy administration and claims management. SSP Pure Insurance is a fully scalable, web-enabled solution, providing a modern platform for Progressive to manage the entire business lifecycle from a single solution.

Simon Lindsay, Country Manager for Progressive Australia believes that the benefits associated with upgrading to SSP Pure Insurance aligns well with Progressive’s 100 per cent online business model.

“Being an online business, Progressive has to adapt and innovate quickly. Upgrading to SSP Pure Insurance was the perfect choice because the platform will make it faster and easier for us to add new functionality, respond to change and modify our processes in order to drive future growth.”

Paul Miller General Manager, Asia Pacific at SSP said: “With costly and inflexible legacy systems representing a long-term constraint, insurers like Progressive are now investing in IT modernisation projects. SSP Pure Insurance’s modern platform will make it faster and easier for Progressive to add new functionality, respond to change and modify its processes in order to transform the business.”

The contract between SSP and Progressive Direct was signed in late September 2014. Pure Insurance will be fully integrated into the Progressive business by March 2015.
